Rules and Expectations

Class Expectations

                                               

  • Treat everyone with mutual respect. (Treat people the same way that you would like to be treated.)

 

  • Upon entering the classroom on time, please go to your assigned seat and begin the Do Now immediately.

 

  • Take responsibility for your own actions. (Do the work that is assigned, and hand it in by the due date.)

 

You are, also,  expected to bring to this class :

1. A loose-leaf binder with a section devoted to Economics

2. At least two blue or black pens

3. A couple of sharpened pencils

4. A pencil sharpener.

GRADING POLICY

BATHROOM/WATER  - Unless another system is imposed by the School’s administration, then you will be expected to use the pass and return in a timely manner.           

There will be one boy's pass and one girl’s pass.  If the pass is gone from its holder, you may assume that it is being used and you must wait until the person returns.

            If I notice a pattern of abuse (Taking too long every time that you use the pass, using the pass everyday, arguing or racing to grab the pass) it will be addressed.

 

Calls Home and Parental Conferences

Interrupting or disturbing the learning process may result in teacher conferences, calls home, parental conferences, Dean referrals AND A LOWER CLASS-PARTICIPATION GRADE.

Procedure for the End of Class

  1. Five minutes before the final bell my alarm will go off and signify it is time for clean up and organization.

This time is to be used for: :

  • Picking up any papers around and under your desk. (WHETHER THEY ARE YOURS OR NOT!)
  • Making sure your have any homework written down.
  • Getting any notes you have missed.
  • Putting away and organizing your stuff.

 

When the school "bell" rings I will dismiss you

                            Please wait until I tell you that class is over.

                            Push your chair under your desk.

(IMPORTANT : If your class is the last class of the day, please put your chair on top of your desk.)

Computers – There will sometimes be homework that will require computer and Internet access. If you don’t have access to a computer at home, you will be expected to use a local library or find some other source with which to complete your assignment.

Seating – I will assign seats alphabetically. Once I find out how much focus and self-control you have, I may allow you to choose your own seats in the future.

Please be aware that I will change seats as I see fit to insure an interruption–free class period.  You do not have the right to change your seat without my permission.
